Grants for Journalists Covering the 73rd Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting

Travel & Accommodation Grants

We are again awarding travel and accommodation grants, this time for journalists with a passion for physics. Media representatives who would like to cover the 73rd Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting are invited to apply until mid-March. This year’s physics meeting will take place in Lindau, Germany, from 30 June to inclusively 5 July 2024. The Council for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings will pay for accommodation for up to five nights and reimburse the travel costs (up to a certain pre-defined limit).

73rd Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting

 

Key themes of the 2024 Meeting, besides general current research in Physics, will revolve around:

Quantum Physics and Quantum Technologies
Physics-based Solutions to the Energy Challenge
Artificial Intelligence in Physics
A preliminary programme will be available online in March 2024 (for a similar meeting, see structure of 2019 Physics meeting).

 

This year, up to 600 Young Scientists from around 100 countries will meet more than 30 Nobel Laureates, including some of the most recent recipients of the Nobel Prize. Host of the International Day is the Texas A&M University.

 

The programme will include numerous Lectures, Panel Discussions, and Agora Talks. In addition, there will be plenty of opportunities for informal exchange with the meeting participants on the fringes of the sessions as well as during the social events. The communications team will try to arrange for interview appointments with Nobel Laureates and Young Scientists.

 

Application for the Travel Grant

 

Journalists world-wide can apply by filling in our form.

 

The application requires:

your specific interest in the meeting and its participants
your plans for coverage (type and extent of work produced)
the media outlet where you aim to publish your articles/pieces
your social media handles by which you promote the coverage
CV summary for your professional experience/current position
links to 2–3 samples of your work
Restriction

 

We intend to offer participation in the grant programme to as many different media representatives as possible. Therefore, journalists who received a travel grant before can unfortunately not be considered again.

 

Timeline

 

The application deadline is 15 March 2024. Applicants will be notified of the results in April. Upon acceptance for a #LINO24 travel grant, the awardees will receive a link for self-registration.

 

General Accreditation for Media

 

General media accreditation for the 73rd Lindau Meeting (independent of grants) is possible via a separate form.
